Wellbutrin SR (Bupropion)

Wellbutrin SR is an antidepressant from aminoketone series useded to treat major depression and at smoke cessation.

SR Wellbutrin is taken per-orally with or without food. If you have stomach-upset, take the medicine with food in order to reduce stomach irritation.

Do not use Wellbutrin SR if:

• you are hypersensitive to components of Wellbutrin SR;
• you take any other medicine which contains bupropion;
• you have in the anamnesis alimentary disorders (for example, an anorexia, a bulimia) or attacks (for example, an epilepsy);
• you stop to take alcohol or sedatives (for example, benzodiazepine) after long-term use;

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, breast-feeding;
• if you or a member of your family have bipolar disorders in the anamnesis (manic depression), other mental problems or problems with mood (for example, depression), suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts, a toxicomania or alcoholism
• if you have diabetes, renal problems, a high blood pressure, heart troubles (for example, a congestive heart failure), or recent heart attack
• if you have craniocerebral traumas, tumours of brain or a spinal cord, a cirrhosis in the anamnesis

• amantadine, neuroleptics (for example, haloperidol, risperidone), corticosteroids (for example, prednisone), insulin, inhibitors of MAO (for example, phenelzine), nicotinic Emplastrums, hypoglycemics (for example, glipizide), other antidepressants (for example, fluoxetine, amitriptyline), sympathomimetics (for example, pseudoephedrine), theophylline, or tiagabine can enlarge risk of side effects of Wellbutrin SR;
• carbamazepine, phenobarbital, or phenytoin - they may decrease effectiveness of Wellbutrin SR
• antiarrhythmics (for example, propafenone, flecainide), betha-blockers (for example, metoprolol), phenothiazines (for example, thioridazine), selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (for example, fluoxetine), or tricyclic antidepressants (for example, nortriptyline) - the risk of side effects can be raised by Wellbutrin SR.

Insignificant side effects can be observed:

• constipation; giddiness; a headache; a dyspepsia; a nausea; weariness or weakness; vomiting.

• rash; an urticaria; an itch; the complicated breath; behaviour changes (for example, aggression); a stenocardia; the confused consciousness; tussis; a syncope; hallucinations; an arrhythmia; a dyspnea; an edema of extremities; sight disturbances.In the case of such side effects immediately turn to your doctor.

Wellbutrin SR is to be used only by the patient for whom it is prescribed. Do not share it with other people.
